The Mama Temple

The Mama Temple is a movement rooted in the sharing and expression of the Motherhood experience through Art and Stories.

Motherhood can be the most beautiful adventure and at the very same time it is the biggest challenge we may face.

The Mama Temple came in to existence as a deeply personal and broader social way to navigate unhealed wounds of birthing and Motherhood along with the sharing of others experience and perspective.

“My own journey of life with two children, raising them (and a step daughter) on my own with little to no support or room for ‘self’, left me zero opportunity to nurture the nurturer (me). During a gathering two years ago, I was in a circle of people very involved in women’s reproductive health. Some were young medical device inventors, some were nurses in labor rooms, others were midwives, and I, as the artist, happened to be in this incredible circle of humans. After this meet up I began to question and explore so much in my own life and memories, to 25 years ago when I was pregnant, and began raising my children. All that I knew and didn’t know then, and how in awe I am that these people I recently gathered with were so connected with healing and supporting women in the process of pregnancy and birth.

I began a healing journey for myself, and I craved to find a way to share with a community of others who may be going through feelings around their experiences as a Mother. Exploring this through creativity is at the heart of The Mama Temple..

In todays chaotic and misogynistic political and social climate, the support of women, women’s health and rights, as well as maternal health are at the forefront of why this is so important.” Jennifer Randall

Past Exhibition and Events:

Past exhibits have included:

Multiple Exhibits in Portland Oregon during 2022 and 2023, and

Multiple Exhibits in San Luis Obispo, California during 2023 and 2024, including July 2024 at The Bunker SLO- a month long gallery exhibit and workshops all around the themes of Motherhood.

The Mama Temple has brought pop up gallery shows and art workshops to various locations throughout California.
